Mobile Games' Disadvantages
The Adverse Effects
of Mobile Games
Mobile
games, online entertainments, have become more and more popular among people of
all ages from all across the globe, especially growing children. Since a mass
number of growing children are addicted to them, it is profoundly crucial to
acknowledge that not only can they jeopardize their mental health, but they
affect children’s physical health as well. Also, they hinder success as
children who indulge in mobile games tend to neglect their studies since most
of their time are devoted to playing such games. This is no wonder why children
who are addicted to mobile games always fail in their school’s examinations.
This should never happen. As for me, I sturdily agree tat mobile games give
adverse effects to their users because addiction to mobile games is detrimental
to health, hinders success, and inhibits socialization.
Predominantly,
addiction to mobile games is indubitably perilous to health. To clarify,
addicts of mobile games are so besotted in playing games that they tend to skip
meals or even sacrifice sleep, which later will endanger their health. Besides,
those gamers will also suffer from backaches, eye strain or numbness in their
wrists after playing games for a long period of time. These may later result in
fatigue and dreadful headaches. Also, since addicts spend most of their free
time gaming, they will surely lack of time to take care of their personal
hygiene which includes taking bath, brushing teeth, combing hair and many more.
Furthermore, since addicts feel eager to thrive in the games they play so that
they can achieve another level, they will also more likely to stress out
whenever they do not manage to do so. When this happens, they will end up
devoting more and more time to playing the games until they succeed. Mobile
games, can hence, corrupt one’s life if not played in moderation.
Aside
from the above point, another tremendous effect of mobile games is they corrupt
one’s life as they hinder success. Since addicts often suffer from sleep
deprivation, they will get knackered all day long as a result of staying late
at night playing mobile games. As a result, they will more likely to fail to work
at their optimum level. For students themselves, this will definitely result in
lower academic performances. Since so much time is devoted to mobile games,
gamers will have no time to spend on beneficial activities to fuel success such
as studying. Also, excessive gaming imperils and individual’s chance of
achieving their full potential in order to perform well at school or workplace.
This will not only waste the individual talents, but also affect the society as
well. Therefore, excessive gaming should never be a fad as it hinders one’s
success.
Last
but not least, mobile games addiction is detrimental as it alienates people. To
make it lucid, addicts often spend too much time on gaming that they tend to
ignore people, as if they are invisible. For instance, they abandon their
families, peers and even avoid face-to-face communications they prefer to spend
time on playing games by themselves. As these happen, they withdraw from
society as they do not feel the necessity to do so. Not only that, they will also
start to consider their own families as nuisance and later distance themselves
from them, which will eventually result in disruption of their relationship
with their families. This is so unhealthy since addiction will lead to
self-exclusion from society, and ultimate depression or loneliness. Hence, it
has been proven that mobile games bring more harms than good as they alienate
people.
All
in all, there is no doubt that mobile games do bring adverse effects to their
users. They contain enough jeopardy to critically corrupt one’s life. Thus,
obliged parties such as parents should start limiting their children’s time on
gaming as mobile games endanger children’s mental and physical health, impede
success, and inhibit socialization. If enough awareness is raised on this
subject, I am sure all these adverse effects can be halted. As the saying goes,
“Prevention is better than cure.” It is time for us to roll our sleeves upon
this matter.
